Description of the Freehold

History of the Freehold

Changelings have been in and out of the city with regularity for the last 50 years, but little is known prior to that. In recent history, over the last five years many of the Lost have gone missing, or been killed. In response a new Freehold was set up with one motley leading the city. This motley is made up of one of each of the courts, and one of the Courtless. This motley took control of the city in early 2006, and things have been running fairly smoothly since. But there are rumors that something dark lurks in Des Moines, still occasionally picking off one of the Lost.

The Freehold of Cycles is currently lead by a single motley, with rulership changing with the seasons. The members of the motley are believed to be the strongest of each of their courts in the area, but no one yet has had the will strong enough to challenge their leadership. Not to mention, until the new Freehold was established, there were constant disappearances, and now, there are none (that anybody have noticed).

Meeting Places

Spring Season: Greenbelt Park in Clive, a western suburb of Des Moines. The Lost meet in the picnic area on the east side of the park.

Summer Season: Conference room in a nondescript office building on the south side of downtown Des Moines. This office building belongs to the most recent Summer King.

Autumn Season: Browns Woods trails on the South side of Des Moines. There have been enough strange events here and reports of ghosts and spirits, that the Autumn Prince declared this her meeting place.

Winter Season: Usually in various hotel conference rooms throughout the city. The location is given to any lost who request it from any member of the freehold, but is only decided on two weeks prior to each meeting.
