Overview

There is always something bigger in the food chain or at least that’s what they teach you in school. For the Gentry, The Gluttons are the top of the food chain. The Gluttons are terrible monsters and they live to feed their unending appetite; whether it be alive or dead, raw or cooked it means nothing to them.

The Gluttons take all forms, large or small, fat or skinny; it makes no difference; they be the Gentry at the end whose stuffing their mouths, all five of them. They eat until they’re tried or they run out of things to eat and then they move to find another to gnaw upon.

Most are lazy, impatient, and rude, if not also cruel. They eat all the food, stuffing their faces as fast as they can; taking no time to taste what they eat. And if they’re still hungry, you better watch out or they might gobble you up, flesh and bone alike. The Gluttons live to eat and eat to live, no morsel is too small or too large for they all taste good.

The Story

Through the hedge a Glutton came in search of its next meal, when it smelt a smell like none before. It tracked that smell to a little chef, where it order all his food and ate it while he watched. When The Glutton finished it licked its lips and called for more, but the little chef said No. So it snatched him up and ran back through the hedge to take him home to cook, for The Glutton liked the food and wanted more.

On the journey home The Glutton grew hungry, but it found nothing to eat so it moved on holding the little chef tight. Longer still the hunger grew and The Glutton cried for it could not find something to eat; it looked at the little chef held tight and thought, just a nibble. The Glutton grabbed the little chef’s arm and tore off his flesh and ate. The little chef screamed in pain, but The Glutton smiled a cruel grin; for the flesh was good and it was so hungry. The Glutton ate the flesh from his right and then off his left, next his legs, then his chest, and last from his face; till it arrived home. It was there that The Glutton tore the flesh from the little chef’s back, to wipe its enormous mouth and then it ate that too.

Inside The Glutton looked at the little chef all bloody red, muscles and bone. It grabbed a bottle of liquid stone and slouched it on the little chef, who screamed in pain, but The Glutton continued. It set down the little chef, all covered in stone, to dry and next day when he was dry; The Glutton broke him, stone and bones alike and covered him again. Again and Again, day after day The Glutton broke the little chef, until he broke no more. Then The Glutton put the stony little chef to work in its kitchen, where he cooked day in and day out for The Glutton; feeding its unending appetite and humongous girth.
