Overview

The Guild of Broken Waters has turned it's back on Monarchies, after so many years under the tight and paranoid rule of the Shadow Kings. With the service oriented changeling in the city, a form of rule based on a corporate 'chair' system, with 4 chairmen one for each of the various quarters and a fifth chair set in place for the voice of the throng. With the member of the council whose quarter it currently is presiding over the meetings. The council sets taxes, and laws for the guild.

Things are far from idyllic, however, as the Felix Noir Dukedom seeks freedom from the Guild, and wishes to return to a more traditional freehold structure. As it stands, West Olympia is claimed by the Dukedom, and a toll is imposed on those who wish to enter their territory.

History

  • Prior to the 1930's the Freehold of Flowing Waters Existed, little is known of it.
  • In the 1930's the Winter Court took power, a collection of Shadow Kings who refused to let the seasonal changes happen in Olympia.
  • In 1993 around the same time as Adamant's Folly, the Shadow King's reign fell apart.
  • During the years leading up to about 2005 as new Changeling's arrived, the Guild of Broken Waters was formed.
  • In 1997, the Felix Noir Dukedom is founded by a collection of traditionalists, and the First Bank of Felix Noir is founded to legitimize their presence.
  • Oly Extended History
  • As of 2008 due to popular opinion and inactivity the guild formally re-tooled into a more traditional freehold with many of its officers becoming citizens of the freehold in such a way that the many oaths were retained.

News and the Minutes

The Guild's Chief Clerk Barbara Longwether takes the minutes of the monthly Council Meetings and releases them for general perusal, especially for those with faulty memories or who are so neglectful as to actually miss a Guild Meeting...

The Silk Road handles the production of the monthly Guild Newsletter in cooperation with Barbara Longwether. It is possible that the newsletter and the minutes will be merged at some point in the future.
