Environ

The Hedge

Rocky steppes and barrens that should otherwise support no life splits and gives way to the indomitable will of The Hedge, springing thick, almost colorless briars that grow densely in defiance to its environment.

The Mundane

Dry, thin air from the high altitude with occasionally wild and unpredictable weather at times. Seasons tend to be mild and pleasant overall. Wilderness is on all sides of the metro area with a thriving cityscape at the core.

Local Celebrations, Holidays, and Ceremonies

The freehold follows many of the celebrations commonly found through out the society of the Lost. In addition, it has come up with some ceremonies unique to Denver. The majority of these are celebrated according to seasonal themes.

The Seasonal Courts of the Hall of the Mountain Kings has a tradition that at the start of season the Court chooses, by whatever means appropriate to them, the Sovereign to rule during their seasons reign.

The other Courts have little power in Denver, though on occasion one or two of them might be seen.

Creatures

  • Harry Leroy - An enigmatic goblin in the guise of an ogre.
  • Riddle-Spiders: These hedge creatures seem to play an almost sphynxian role in the Hedge around Denver. Large man sized spiders, with thorned limbs, they blend in remarkably well into the briars of the Hedge. Some prefer to ambush their prey, while others spin large webs blocking off sections of the Hedge. Regardless, it is commonly said that they will not pass up a game of riddles and that if you win the challenge, they will allow you to pass unmolested.

Endeavors

For those areas known to the Changelings of The Hall of the Mountain Kings, both friendly and hostile.

Businesses

Beaver Liquor Saloon

A pub and gambling hall run by the Autumn Court.

Blacksock

A band of three local changelings.

Paladin Software

Realistic graphics, engaging storylines and disturbingly gory depictions make the videogames of this corporation some of the most controversial products of the new millenium. With movies, an online interactive game and the music of Blacksock on the way, business is booming as young minds are corrupting with social decay.

The Cold One

A bar and safehouse run by the Winter Court.

The Goblin Fruit and Nut Company

A purveyor of fine food and drink that supplies numerous pubs, restaurants and inns in the changeling world with consumable products.
