The Lord of Sable and Aster

From Changeling Venue

The Lord of Sable and Aster has doubtless been known by other names in other times. His variations and permutations are many but to those whom he kept in most recent memory, he is the devil's charm incarnate. Stunningly handsome and glib of tongue, Sable and Aster has a proclivity and curiosity for the trials, travails, and flexibility of human emotion. His chief interest is the ways in which he might manipulate the feelings and thoughts of his captured pets. Most commonly he seduces them and leads them away, though he held a bevy of Lost as a harem for a time. The Lord of Sable and Aster is not one of those gentry that one could ever approach in physical combat. To be sure the rumors state that he was capable, but that no one ever seemed to want to hit him at all. He is rumored to have been one of the more powerful gentry, working in subtle and tricky realms and games that earned him the appreciation of the fickle fae.

Edria's Experience

Primarily of a european influence in the times that he held Edria Meredith she recalls vague glimpses of golden suites and mirrored halls, rare and startling delights and pleasures, of beds and rooms bedecked in fabrics so soft and luxurious that they could only belong to Arcadia.

She also recalls the pain she faced there, both in body and in mind, the nightmares, the endless torture, and the never fufilled longing for pleasure that Sable and Aster always managed to kindle. Edria believed and still does believe that she was the wife of this particular Gentry - although the elaborate ruse was in fact designed to experiment on the human capacity for love. Much to Sable and Aster's amusment, he was able to utterly trick her into believing his lies and with them he led her through a merry decade of torture both mental, emotional, and oh so subtley physical.

Sophia's Statements in Silence
He's not one that I'd ever want to see again. Nights of endless Agony followed by days of being tossed about from one individual to another, all just to see how long it would take me to break. Though I do not believe that His experiment on me was ever completed -- was anything really? The times of 'peace' that I had were found in the Forests though there was VERY little times of peace. I recall some other faces -- those who were considered lower keeping to the chores. Though at times if I had displeased Him I too was one of them who would pick rice up one grain at a time. I hate rice with a passion now.

I truly do still feel that I love him though. Despite all that happened, and I also do realize that the union that was shared was truly a sham, its still there within my heart -- deeply seeded within. I just pray that if ever.... whenever he does return I'll be stronger and not have to return to what Myself and many others had to endure.
