Concept
The Marshals are dedicated to protecting the laws of the freeholds under their jurisdiction, just like the U.S. Marshals do in mundane life. They protect the freeholds from renegade lost, help keep the peace, and face down the gentry whenever and wherever they appear on this side of the hedge if they're trying to 'reap' the lost back into Arcadia.
History
Founder: Maverick J.W. McGraw Founded: 1997, Sanford, FL Why: in 1997 a mass influx of 'escapees' appeared in Sanford Florida, causing massive chaos and necessitating immediate action to corral all these new lost. The Sanford courts were ill prepared for this type of large influx of lost, and honestly had little in the way of resources to actually do anything about it. Maverick stepped forward and offered his services which were accepted. He quickly rounded up all the new lost, got them to other places, settled in the area, or in the absolute worst cases, sent them back through the hedge.
Two years later this occurred again, and again the Sanford courts were unprepared and ill equipped, so again Maverick stepped in helping, directing, catching, sorting, settling, all these new lost.
