The Partisans
From Changeling Venue
Contents |
Overview
The Partisans were first organized, if that term can be used, in the late 1990's. Since that time, they have served whatever freehold they visit as a final line of defense. The Partisans each take an oath never to retreat while a single changeling remains in danger. While the original intent of the Partisans was to stand against assaults from the Others, the group has made it clear over the past decade that they are willing to give their lives in defense against any threat.
Organization
The Partisans have no formal heirarchy. While some members are given some small amount of deference due to their time in service, all members are considered equals from the day of their oathswearing.
Membership
Membership in the Partisans is not restricted according to Seeming, Kith, or Court. While the Summer court is heavily represented, members of any court, or the Courtless are welcomed so long as they are willing to take on the responsibility of membership. There is little formality in joining the Partisans. It requires only that the prospective member swear an oath never to retreat in defense of their fellow changelings. On the week leading up to the oathswearing, it has become traditional for each member of the Partisans in the local area to attempt to disuade the prospective member from joining.
