Overview
Theme
The Elements represent Mother nature in all her glory. A Storm is but one hand of Nature's Fury. There are three main aspects of a Storm that this Society honours:
- Air- The necessary fuel of all life on Earth.
- Electricity- The power source of all life on Earth
- Water- The basic essence of all life on Earth.
Together, these three elements can create the perfect Storm. The elements necessary for creating and sustaining life used in cooperation to continue the elemental cycle.
These three Elements are known as the Three Harmonies. The Society venerates the Storm, the harmonic balance of these three Elements in order to identify and appreciate moments of Clarity through an enlightening state of physical activity.
History
- 1975 - Gayle (someone famous) disappears during the
massive storm that sunk the Edmund Fitzgerald (famous Great Lakes storm)
- 1998 - Gayle returns as November Gayle during an equally
powerful storm. (Equivalent to a Category 1-2 Huuricane but in the Great Lakes).
- 1998 - Hael's Wyndstaff finds Gayle and begins to compete with her for control of the Great Lakes Storms.
- 2000 - Several other Elementals throw their hats in some
kind of bizarre competition. This underground group begins traveling the US, chasing the storms through the seasons and competing in life or death events in grand shows of one-upmanship.
- 2003 - By now the actions of this group has grown and
other changelings begin following them around to watch the exchanges.
- 2005 - Hurricane Katrina hits the US. This underground
group comes together to weather a storm far more powerful than anything they've ever seen before. A few of the original members as well as many observers die during the storm. The group makes a Pledge to each other to compete but to not purposely risk the lives of other changelings. The Three Harmonies Storm Society is founded by those who remain.
- 2006 - The 3 Harmonies Guild is kicked off as a means of
allowing observers and others to participate in events of a non-fatal manner. Incorporating a system of extreme sporting events. This Guild is also used as a recruiting prerequisite for the Storm Society.
- 2008 - After 2 successful years of the 3 Harmonies
Guild, the Storm Society is growing strong. The members of the Noble Order of the 3HSS compete or oversee vital aspects of Guild events. They also continue to compete with one another on higher levels during Society events (storm chasing).
Titles
- Gurus or Masters respectfully, Stormchasers vulgarly.
Prerequisites
- Atheltics 2 - Each Guru is generally skilled in some related activity.
- Elements 3 - Anyone wishing to join must known how to to Control at least one of the three main Elements of the Storm. (Air, Electricity, Water)
- Wyrd 2 - This entitlement isn't for fledgeling changelings.

Joining
Before the Three Harmonies Guild was introduced as a means of testing and reviewing prospective members of this Noble Order, a more direct method was employed. A method that some members of the order still enforce whereas others are a little more lenient.
The task is known simply as "Weathering the Storm". It's not enough just to chase a storm down, take a dip in the powers that be and run back to safety. "Weathering the Storm" works much like it implies. Not only must one chase down and find a storm "worthy" of enduring, but one must immerse oneself within the storm.
Doing this alone is obviously not only dangerous for an individual, but doesn't offer much proof that the task has been done. It's generally necessary for either a Founding Noble or two or more other Nobles to witness the display.
The prospective Noble must endure the storm, adapting to and manipulating it to their whim in an effort not only to keep themselves safe, but also to keep their witnesses safe. Thus when one enters a storm, he does not enter alone, but bears responsibility for those who enter with him. Occasionally strict Witnesses will "help" the storm along, against the will of the prospect, to add flavour.
If the prospect and the witness (or witnesses) emerge from the storm with minimal damage and the prospect has shown the necessary skill,she will generally be admitted into the Noble Order which must be announced by the Witness and approved by the majority of the founding members.
Mein
One of the overarching tendencies of Nobles of the Storm Society is to exhibit classic indications of what we like to call "the coming of a storm". This is most evident in the Mein of a Storm Society member when their approach alone signals softly to those around them; whether it be from a swift spray of mist, a darkening of the air around them as if clouds were rolling in, the soft crackle and boom of thunder or an instant sparkle of electricity bouncing around. Many members of the Storm Society exhibit all of these signs and more as the constant synergy of the Storm circles around them.
Backgrounds
Gurus come from many different walks of life, together not by common heritage, not discriminated against by sex or race, but drawn by the elements themselves.
Any Seeming, Kith or Court is welcome into the society as long as they meet the prerequisites and prove themselves worthy of "weathering the storm". The society is directed toward enlightenment and Clarity through experiencing the physical, mental and social nature of Storms and the effect they have on existence.
Physically, all Nobles of the order need to be able to withstand the Elements giving physical attributes a priority for most. High social attributes are also necessary, especially Manipulation, in order to control the elements properly.
Skills again differ greatly, some endure the elements though knowledge while others trough physicality, giving physical skills in Athletics and Survival high priority and Mental skills in Academics and Science. Social skills fall behind though are employed to great effect after most events occur to truly understand and appreciate the nature of the experiences.
Organization
The Society functions much like a sports club or guild. Each Guru enjoys the recognition and privelage afforded them by other Gurus. Events are usually held throughout the year locally and in special environments to maintain a competitive edge between Gurus and establish a pecking order according to rank and accomplishments.
Most Competitions include a sporting event or tournament and a storytelling party afterwards so members can share their experiences with others of the Storm.

Beach Bum Surfer, Wind Surfing Instructor, Para-Sailing Enthusiast, Yach Racing Captain, Speedboat Racer, Pro Water Skier, Snorkeling Guide, Weather Analyst, Helicoptor Tour Pilot, Storm Spotter, Hurricane Chaser.
Privelage
Upon joining this enlightening Entitlement, Gurus devlop an ability to Harmonize the Elements of a Storm. Spending so much time among the Storm allows a Guru to take advantage of the synergy created by the three Elements in question and allows them a moment of Enlightenment which they can use to promote their personal uses of the Elements.
Once per day, the Guru may add a +1 bonus to any single activation draw to one of his Elemental Contracts per each Element of Air, Electricity, or Water the Guru already has at Level 3.
Example: Guru has Air 3 and Water 3. This grants him a +2 bonus which he can apply once per day to any one activation draw of an Elemental Contract.
