- Why the black rose to identify us?
The black rose, because it symbolizes death and passing away, it can also be the beginning of new things, a journey into unexplored territory and also indicates a major change or upheaval in the future. In that sense, the black rose also means the death of old habits and the old order. It inspires confidence and enthusiasm by signaling the birth of a new era of hope and joy. Just as the Irish did when fighting the British we also adopted the black rose as a symbol of mutiny and strength, of courage and resistance against the Fae and all those that would keep us from reaching our desires and keeping our freedom.

The Trybe of the Ebony Rose was created by three founding members, Martiya, Ronyo Cruxis and Charity. It is a Trybe of mostly women who have found themselves unable to fully conform to mortal societies strict moral code. Infamous for Martiya's raunchy description of "What Sex Is Like With (insert kith here)."
Our Purpose in Life
To use ones wits, skills and charm to get what one desires all in the measure of good fun and to outsmart and take from the Fae whenever possible. They stole from us so damn it! We'll steal from them, take advantage of those who are incompetent enough in their actions that they deserve it, live in the moment and when an opportunity presents itself that would better you or the motley to act on it, but do so with grace, stealth, and wits to not get caught.

Our Laws & Customs
Every Motley has their own Laws and Customs. Below details these Laws and Customs that our Motley holds dear to and abide by as not only a measure of our companionship but a means of life and survival. - Rom Cruxis
Our Fine Laws
Taking in the details of the Goddess Laverna one can see that all acts of her deceit and thievery were always in good humor and never meant to harm or in cruelty. In this the first Law of this Motley is thus:
All acts of Deceit and Thievery should always be in good humor. One must never commit any act of such or far worse that is in the aspect of being intentionally cruel or intentionally harming others. This attracts attention that we do not wish to have upon our heads. Unlike Larverna we cannot make our heads disappear, thought if we could that would be a trick for the books. This Law is implied to sexual exploits as well.
Reading through the story of the Lady it mentions that many would split their treasures before her with the others of their grouping. In this, the Second Law is presented:
All items gained during a situation that two or more of the Motley is present shall be combined at the end of the evenings events (In a safe location like our Hallow) or whatever place deemed worthy. And the items acquired shall be divided up amongst one another present for the heist. Granted later what was gained can be traded or sold away, but until such time that the items acquired are given to you, do not assume any specific item is yours and do not withhold that which was taken for the Motley.
In aspect of the grouping that is formed we understand that trust must be placed in one another if this Motley is to stay strong. In this, the Third Law is given:
There is honor among us Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves and in this none shall steal from one another unless a game has been presented where such is open, but there will be laws for such. Yet, anyways, none shall steal from one another within the Motley. All items gained are considered safe within the Holdings of each others personal Hallows and that within the rooms in our communal hallow. You can Borrowed however, so long as simple Vow of permission is struck betwen the owner of the item and the person borrowing it.
Customs and Rytes
Description
Custom are that which was created by the Trybe to form a sense of unity and a bond between each member of the Trybe. In this these special rytes of being are always to be observed and performed whenever these Customs are called for. (Note this if RP Fluff to add depth to the group and to draw the Characters closer together as a united 'Trybe' of Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves.)
The Three Systers Pickings: This Little Custom is always in effect among the Trybe whenever the Trybe gets back from a collective wild night of Fun, Sex and Collecting. At the end of the Night (Or beginning of the next day to be more accurate) those present during the festivities will gather all items acquired in the center of a table or amongst themselves (if they wish to sit on the floor or something). The Three Systers get to pick what they want first out of the lot, before giving a chance for those under them to pick the items they want. Yet, however, a Syster has the right to pass on whatever she chose to another Syster or to those under her if she so desires. Things should be divvied up amongst all members so that way everyone at least gets one thing or a small amount of money. Note: The Three Systers Pickings does not apply to solo jobs of anyone within the motley.
Seniority: In case any of the Systers are not present or they have taken their share of the items acquired from the nights events, those who have been amongst the group the longest get to pick what they desire out of the lot. Yet, this must be in good manners and there always needs to be
enough left over for those under them to have a least a bit of wealth is shared. Yet, if it seems one of the Seniors of the Trybe is being greedy one of or all of the Systers can step in and force the Senior to throw in either some, half or all of what they have taken and to passed from them down to those under them. In this, whatever is left after all is gone through; the offending Senior will be given the chance to have what is left over.
The Lucky Mark: This custom was set up to protect those individuals the Systers and other Members see fit as not to be taken from or emotionally messed with. A Mark is usually something very obvious that represents the person who marked them within the Motley. This could be of personal clothing that everyone within the Motley knows they would never take off and hand to someone unless for a reason, to a color or scent. Anyone found stealing or messing with these people will be punished by not getting the chance to partake in the evenings findings when arriving back at the secure locations or Hallow.
All for One: This Custom is made to bring strength to the Motley through unity. Often times this could take a few forms, from pricking each others fingers and touching each members bleeding finger to the other members to show ones willingness to share and grow strong together, to more lewd acts such as group sex to those willing. Yet regardless this is called to re-buff the unity of the Motley and to give a firm understanding to all that those who are present are much like family.
The Ryte of Tongues: This Custom was made for the Gypsies who use their Charm and their Silver Tongue to get what they please. In this, before the Roma set out for the night to swindle people out of money without them even realizing this, or other valued items, those Roma gather
around in a Circle and Look at each other. Then all those present in the circle stick out their tongues and gently bite down upon them to the point where they feel pressure, but not to cause pain. This Custom is to represent that the Gypsies will not try to steal their intended targets
away from one another. Granted if given permission from the other Gypsy to help out, its okay, but given permission must be received.
The Ryte of Deviance: This Custom was made for the Tramps in all their desire to go out and have fun with a capital 'F'... if you get my meaning. In this those who are looking to enjoy the night, along with a person(s) and in the process, gather up before going out for the fun and stand in a circle. Each person looks to one another and puts their right hand out towards the center. With the Left hand they gently slap the person to their lefts out stretched right hand. This is to mean there is no STEALING the other Tramps intended target(s). They may join in on the fun and in this could bring about a large grouping of people in hopes to make a literal mess of things, but never to steal the other tramps fun. Once the night is over or the Tramp is done with their target(s) then the other Tramp(s) have the right to do what they want.
The Ryte of Obscurity: This Custom was made for the Thieves and is to be performed before the Motley goes out to slide into someone's home and steal everything that isn't nailed down. With this Ryte the Motley forms up in a circle and together act as if they are zipping their mouths
shut. This is to signify that they are to keep silent while moving around in the house. Granted whispering and muffled laughter is okay, but out right laughter and noise isn't, since the main object is to get in, take everything (or in some cases re-arrange someone's house for fun)
and get out before your noticed.

- Details: The Roma are often seen as thief's, rogues and knaves with unparalleled charm, beauty and grace as they steal your heart and wallet. Yet, on the other side of this coin the Roma are also seen as Mystics and magic users, which is another reason why they were looked down upon. For there are many stories that depict those who crossed the Roma as often times fall upon bad luck or enthralled by them to the point where those they previously loved are discarded in hopes to be with the Roma, but in the end sadly are rejected and are left with a broken heart and home.

- Details: The Tramps are those who know how to use their good looks to get what they want. In this its often times they are host to many of person, courting more then just one person, yet without the knowledge of the other. Always, though, in the end before true commitment, the Tramp takes off with their lovers heart and all the valuables they can carry.

- Details: The Thief is the one who stalks in the night and slips in through the open window or picks the lock to your back door and steals all that isn't nailed down. In this the Thief is seen as the carrier of ones wealth that is lost do to these crafty individuals who are not only fast of foot but quick with wit as they stay one step ahead of those who they plan to take from.
