Merit Details:

Background: (very brief, more to come as I get character links :) ) Born in 1975 his life was gentle and calm. That was all shattered when his little sister went missing. Years have passed since then but he still vows to find her one day, and the knowledge that she might be in Arcadia drives him even further.

His school life was rather normal, while intelligent he got along well with the other children and played in a few sports activities. By the time he was in 7th grade he had already decided that he wanted to be in law enforcement, so that he could help as many people as possible from undergoing what he had gone through. Tt wasn't until later that he found out which agency he wanted to be a part of. While he had some dreams of becoming an FBI agent, he felt that he could do the most amount of good as a US Marshal, a group known forr ttheir ability to protect people and uphold justice.

He applied for and was accepted to the US Marshals Service at the age of 18 where he spent the next few years working hard and learning that it was far more beaurocratic than he had ever imagined.

Later he applied for a position in a task force devoted to finding and solving missing persons cases. Being a low priority mission he was granted this request, which ultimately lead him into worlds unseen.

Following a hunch and a series of clues he came to a point where he had to take leave in order to follow-up on a devolopment, (ooc: for non-military leave is personal time off, aka paid vacation) arriving at the scene he managed to see, something taking a smnall child, Busting intot he room he pulled his gun on the person abducting the child. The memories go vague afterwords, but he still remember's the litle girl managing to run out of the room before he was taken by what would be his owner, if only for a short time.

A week later he arrives back at his apartment, while a year had passed in Arcadia he had arrived before his leave was even up. While he was still shaken he managed to pull himself together enough to resume his life, though now he knew more about those he was trying to protect and what he was trying to protect them from.

Excerpt: "I’m awake…I look around me, my gun is still in my hand, the other seeming to be surrounded by flames, NO! it can’t be, I was never there, I was merely unconscious, a dream, it couldn’t have been real. But the memories keep coming back, faint and almost unrecognizable, faint glimmer’s of what had been done to me still resurface to my mind. Reminding me that all I had endured had been real, far more real than anything I had gone through before, but at least I saved the girl, this was not something anyone should go through, the terror, the fear, the anger.

But the nightmares slowly faded away, and the fear, the need for protection died with them, the fire slowly draining out of existence. I knew that each night would be similar to this, I would never get away from the past that haunts me, and one that might very well be hunting me as well. Let them come, let them see what they have created in this man, and let them be the ones who fear the Hunter, for I shall not rest until I am sure that no man woman or child is ever taken by their kind again."

Transferring to Charlotte North Carolina he was found by other Lost and was taught what they did in this world now. He joined the Summer Court and found the nearby FreeHold, the Tolltaker Knights also found interest in him and he propelled through their ranks, only slowing down because of his necessity for true justice rather than some of the slightly darker justice that had been seen within the Knights.

Excerpt: "I was at something called a Summer Game today, met the most amazing person, and though she did beat me in the race. For some reason we have seemed to connect, and while at times I have a hard time understanding what she’s trying to say I almost feel safe around her.

It’s been some time since I met Gaea and I have to say, she’s become like my little sister…but that thought brings back bad memories, I still wonder where my real little sister is, but I know that I will find her one day, and bring her back from where ever she is. But for know I will protect this new family that I have found, and let any who dare to try and take her fear what will come next."

"I met another man, Cato Septimus Tag, newly Lost, helped him get set up in this world, I had to call in quite a few favor’s and I will no doubt owe debts for quite a while, but it’s such a good feeling, and one that I haven’t felt in a long time. Perhaps I can help more such as him, help them finally get a life that has been denied to them by the Fae."

He slowly became more entrenched within the Lost world, learning more and helping new people. He started traveling more to get to know the Lost that he had sworn to himself to help, and of course to perhaps hear something of a small girl who had been kidnapped so long ago.

Excerpt; "It seems I have met a new friend and perhaps a close ally. The nightmares still come to me, but it seems the more people I meet and help the less the weight down upon my soul. Her name is Morgana, she’s of the Winter Court, but I’m sure I can see the fire’s heat burning in her. I’ve asked her about it at times but she puts me off, telling me that it isn’t quite time and that there are still things to be done. I worry for her, it seems at times that whether these “things” are that they will eventually consume her, but for now I will be there as a shoulder she can lean upon, and perhaps, should she ever feel the need, to cry on."

The lost world seemed to be more diffficult and far more political than he had ever imagined, but at least it seemed that thhey were all working towards a common goal, to be free of the Fae and in some way protect the world from them.

Excerpt: "I haven’t been writing this as often, and I will probably burn this book shortly, too much information that people shouldn’t know, too much information about us, the Lost, then again, maybe I’ll just have the FreeHold store it, they seem to have good security, especially if it would threaten our secrets.

I’ve helped many new people, and all of them area at least starting to get back on with their lives. James Cornoa seems a good enough man now, and though I’ve stopped performing the background checks on everyone whom I supply identities, as it is usually a pointless gesture, there’s something about him that bugs me. Regardless whatever he went through in Arcadia has changed him, as it has changed us all, and I see no reason to ddig up the past and punish him again.
Valeria Thorne, an interesting name given her profession, she needed help setting up her new shop and I was more than happy to help. The more people I can give true identities to the less chance there is that I will see them end up in a jail cell later on, who wants to risk that when they can live a happy and long life?"

Working hard he managed to climb to a position in both the Knights and the US Marshals Service where he could help newly Lost, and those who through no fault of their own were in the cold, get new lives where they could prosper.

Excerpt: "I met the strangest old man the other day, He claims no name but that of Clockwork, and I can’t seem to find him in the databases anywhere. He seems to be a kind man, but I think there’s something stronger that hides beneath the surface.

I’ve spoken to Clockwork often, it seems he is in a similar business, he also tries to help newly Lost get set-up in this new world. While I believe he might have some connections that I don’t truly care for, he does help them, and I cannot turn my back on the help that they need. I think that he comes from a much earlier time period, though I’m not sure which one, he always seems to think that I need a bribe in order to help him, and as always I turn him down, but I don’t think worse of him, he’s a kind old man, strange, but kind nonetheless and I will allow him to keep his illusions."

He now stands in the same position of helping those who need it and protecting those from the preditations of the Fae. his ongoing search for his sister still drives him but his other duties fill his time so that it is no longer a driving obsession.
