Description of the Venue

Ever since the Freehold of Magnolia Chateau has stood, there has been a strong court presence. Since anyone can remember, every summer the Summer Court has reigned, with tournaments and Knights speckling their retinue. The fall sees the Autumn Court, with their court magicians and scholars. The wintertime brings the Winter Court with their subtle misdirections and enigmatic Winter Formal. Spring sees the Spring Court with their courtesans and players. The traditions are well known, and most follow them with zeal. The oldest tradition is that whomever hold the crown of their Court and leads the Freehold makes rules and regulations for their months of service. Due to the nature of the rotating court, it is somewhat hard to keep up with the laws of the land for outsiders. This is an unfortunate side effect, but one that doesn’t seem to discourage the momentum of activity.

In the recent court nights, a tragedy has beset Magnolia Chateau. Nearing the end of the Summer Court’s reign, the Autumn Court divined that a terrible time would befall all. They recognized that it would be centered on the Summer Court’s Crown holder, Leviegn Gesteaux, who had an adopted daughter. The daughter would go missing, and Leviegn would try to return to Arcadia. In light of this, the Autumn Court’s leader, Yuri Redwood, decided to overthrow the Summer Court weeks before the equinox. Leviegn’s daughter did indeed go missing, and Leviegn set out into the Hedge on a mad mission to find her. The other Courts set out to find and stop Leviegn, and a battle between the Summer Court and the others ensued. Many of the Autumn court lost their lives due to breaking their Pledges to Magnolia Chateau, and the Courts therein. Many of the Summer Court lost their lives defending Leviegn, and many others lost their lives just entering the Hedge during this troubled time. A few survivors recall a Wild Hunt and pray for those missing. Now the Courts are in shambles, and those few remaining must pick up the pieces and move on.

Theme/Mood: “Who can I trust, if not myself?” The Lost have many things in common, but the most binding is the sense of fear of a life once lived. Enough fear to drive any sane person crazy, fear enough to drive a crazy person mad. Yet within that fear there is a life, and one lived with dignity and grace. The pieces are picked up, and the world moves on, but will the Lost move with it?

Antagonists: Other Changelings, Mortals, Monsters and on extraordinary occasions True Fae can be possible antagonists for the Lost. Other supernaturals may be introduced based on player want/need.

Storytelling Mechanics

Proxy Rules: Proxy rules follow those outlined in Prime with some additions. The relevant section from Prime is copied below for convenience.

"At least 48 hours notice must be given to all players and storytellers involved in the proxy play scene. In order to proxy a character, the player must give to the storyteller:
1) their character sheet
2) a brief write-up of character attitude, personality and motivation
3) a brief write-up of the character's intentions
4) a brief write-up of the character's reactions to possible situations

By giving a character over to a storyteller for proxy play, the player grants the storyteller all rights to the character for the duration of the proxy scene. The requirements above are the minimum."

Please make sure that the character sheet sent is complete. Also, a complete XP log and any applicable approval codes will be necessary. If your character would avoid doing particular things, please note these as well.

Please make sure your VST and all other relevant STs are aware of the proxy and provide VST contact info with the above info.

Additionally the VST reserves the right to reject any proxy.

Travel Risks: Most Lost walk where ever they want to go. This makes travel times take quite some time. This can be alleviated by entering the Hedge or using doors. Travel within the Hedge can be dangerous, and the ST needs to be notified when you are traveling that course. The ST must also be notified before a door from someone’s Hallow leads into Baton Rouge or the surrounding areas.

Visiting Character Guidelines: Visiting characters are encouraged to become involved with local characters and plotlines. However, should they be so much more powerful as to unbalance the game, they may be asked to tone down their actions or to step aside from some plots. Players of powerful characters are encouraged to think like STs and consider game balance when visiting.

Experience Award Guidelines:
1. Each character who participates for at least 2 hours receives an automatic award of 4 Experience Points.
2. The storyteller may make storyteller awards for outstanding contributions to the game, dressing in character, or otherwise having a really “good game”.
3. No character may earn more than 5XP per game.
4. Players may earn up to a total of 3 Experience Points per month by providing downtime reports, character goals, journals, or game reports.
6. No character may earn over their maximum monthly allowance without appropriate notification and approval in the database.
7. Players portraying more than one character in a game session may gain experience points for both characters portrayed, as long as the minimum time requirements are met. Those portraying multiple characters must make a noticeable costume change.
