The Freehold in Vancouver was originally founded by the Norse Ogre explorer Balthazar Shadowmane in 1015 AD.
"Before others who have shared my captivity and who are now my brothers and sisters in freedom, I swear that I shall give my services to protect and defend the freehold and its members from the Fae and their allies and to never knowingly give aid or comfort to these enemies. Where able to and within reason, when called to order by the seasonal ruler, attend freehold gatherings for the swearing in of new members. - Frost was the former Winter King of the freehold, swearing vengeance upon Cole after he took the throne in a political coup. Frost originally faked his own death, later to be rescued from a slave auction. After swearing death upon two of the freehold rulers was declared a Privateer and handed over to the Border Reavers.
